The first-ever BuddyCamp in Europe has been confirmed to take place in the beautiful city of Brighton in the UK. A conference focused on BuddyPress, BuddyCamp Brighton is scheduled for 8th August 2015 at Clearleft’s 68 Middle Street venue in Brighton (UK).
BuddyCamp Brighton 2015 will be the first BuddyCamp event outside of North America and Canada. WP Tavern reported that BuddyPress lead developer Paul Gibbs and contributor Tammie Lister have been working behind the scenes to organize the event.
The announcement for the event was made yesterday by Tammie Lister on the official BuddyCamp Brighton 2015 website. The website is also calling for speakers to educate, inspire, and engage the BuddyPress community.
Brighton has a vibrant WordPress community and is just over an hour away by train from London. This definitely puts Brighton in a strategic location to host the event.
Tickets and other announcements will be made shortly on the website. As the venue has a capacity of only 60 people, you might want to subscribe to the BuddyCamp Brighton website and keep an eye on the announcement of tickets sale.
Update 22nd July: Tickets are now up for sale for BuddyCamp Brighton. You can buy your tickets here and view the complete schedule for the day.
You can also follow the updates of the event on their official Twitter account @BuddyCampUK
Considering only 60 attendees for the event, BuddyCamp Brighton will be more of an intimate meetup than the usual “Camp” type. The event will however mark the sixth worldwide BuddyCamp event.
