Pressnomics 4 has been announced to take place on March 3-4, 2016 at Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, Phoenix, Arizona.
A conference focused on the business ecosystem within WordPress, Pressnomics is a non-official WordPress event founded and hosted by Joshua Strebel of Pagely.
The first event of Pressnomics took place in 2012 in Chandler, Arizona, and it has been organised two more times since then.
What is Pressnomics?
Pressnomics is a WordPress meetup like no other. Most of us are familiar with WordCamps and other WordPress Meetups. Those events focus on the broader WordPress community and are suitable and welcoming to anyone.
Pressnomics, however, formed out of the idea that there should be an event that catered to the business professionals of the community.
The conference thus focuses on the WordPress economy and the community that run businesses based around WordPress. It ideally caters to WordPress hosting companies, themes and plugins sellers, freelancers, WordPress agencies, and others that make a living out of WordPress.
Pressnomics was held for its first time in 2012 in Chandler, AZ and almost 200 attendees made it to the event. The event has grown over the years, and the latest event took place towards the start of this year in Phoenix, AZ. The conference attracts several top business leaders in the WordPress community.
Unlike WordCamps, Pressnomics is not endorsed by the WordPress Foundation and thus remains as an unofficial WordPress event.
4th Event of Pressnomics
The 4th yearly event, Pressnomics 4 will be based on the topical theme of Business Ethics.
Setting the theme, the organisers assert that the speakers will explore themes around the human side of businesses. The conference will mainly shed light on ethical standards we should be all strive for in running our businesses.

You can also watch the Pressnomics 2015 opening video here.
Major businesses around WordPress also love the idea and the conference easily gains several sponsors.
The event page within minutes of announcing listed several businesses as the early sponsors of Pressnomics 4.
WordPress businesses including Envato, Sucuri, MediaTemple, Pagely, Gravity Forms, Formidable Pro, GoDaddy, iThemes, Chris Lema, Easy Digital Downloads, AffiliateWP, and Theme CO are among the early sponsors for the conference.
Further, the team announced Gravity Forms as their title sponsor for the 2016’s event.
And one important thing I must mention before I wrap up this post is that Pressnomics is not a just-for-profit event. Part of their profits is spent on supporting charities for a good cause.
As mentioned on the event’s homepage, the 2012 & 2013 events donated over $11,200 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the 2015 Event donated $10,000 to CureSearch.org to fight childhood cancer. That’s over $21,000 to charities fighting childhood cancer just from the last three events!
Joshua and the Pagely team have put a lot of effort in making the event a top class and the event reviews from the top leaders clearly justify that.
Update 1st September: Tickets for the PressNomics 4 are on sale and you can get them on Eventbrite here.
